X-Accnt launcher 3.0 BETA was made available.  This version has a few key security enhancements as well as some feature improvements.  X-Accnt Launcher now has a security time-out feature that can be set to 5, 10 or 20 minutes by the user.  After the system has been idle for 5, 10 or 20 minutes the X-Accnt Launcher will lock itself and require the user's password to continue.  This will limit the ability of a non-authorized user to gain access to administrative tools.  Also, in version 3.0, the password entered at login is now protected with tighter security within X-Accnt Launcher.  In previous versions the password was stored in plain text in a variable that was washed when he program closed.  This was a vulnerability that I wanted to take care of and was really the highest priority in the new version.


The ability to create 3 custom buttons to launch user chosen applications has been joined by the ability to make 3 custom links also.  Use these custom links to create shortcuts to Web URLs, local admin portal URLs or custom HTML files that hold other links and information; it's all up to you.  The custom links are NOT launched with elevated permissions and only launches the links with the current user logged into the local system and uses their default browser.
